I heart PB Teen...

So I have just discovered something wonderful that I know has been around for a while, but I've just stumbled onto it... PB Teen! (aka- Pottery Barn Teen) www.pbteen.com

I was online looking at Pottery Barn Kids the other night to get ideas & shop because I'm trying to update sweet baby girl's bathroom and with no luck finding any shower curtains I liked there or at the stores I've been to, I saw the icon for PB Teen and clicked on it & it took me to their site... OMG! They have THE CUTEST girls bedding & a lot of other things! Look...
I want my room to look like this!...
And how cute are these polka dot heart bulletin boards?!... {What a great craft idea to try to re-create this look}

And I LOVE decorating with letters and anything monogrammed, so I see these extra large mirrored wall letters in my near future!...

And here's the shower curtain I'm thinking about getting & taking it somewhere to get a HUGE monogram embroidered in the middle... My friend, Beth, posted this picture on her blog of her bedroom for Wordless Wednesday (www.mcclintockb.blogspot.com )...

The bathroom I want to update is painted a very similar color from the people who lived in this house before us and hubs refuses to paint it so I've been thinking about adding pink accessories to give it more of a girlie feel since it is the bathroom baby girl will be using. After seeing how cute those colors looked in Beth's room, I was convinced!... And hubs is just happy I'm not bugging him to re-paint! Everyone wins! :)

I'll keep you posted on the before & after pics once I'm done! ;)

Friday Fives: 5 things you will never catch me doing...

So this week's topic on Beth's "Friday Fives" (http://www.mcclintockb.blogspot.com/) is all about things you would never catch me doing... When I first read this topic, I thought "I'm going to have a hard time coming up with anything"... I'm the type of person who thinks "Never say never" but after I sat down and started writing things I hope to NEVER see myself doing came easier than I thought...

1. Buying a fake Coach bag- Call me brand loyal, but you will never see me purchasing or wearing a "knock-off" Coach!... I just can't do it!... PERIOD...
2. Wearing "mom-jeans" as a regular part of my wardrobe- Now I say "regular" because I have worn a pair as part of a Tacky Christmas Sweater outfit...
But God help me that I will not turn into a "mom-jean" wearing mommy when I get older!!
3. Keep my kid on a child leash- So I may be second guessing this decision in a couple years when sweet baby girl is bouncing off the walls, but so help me, I will not keep her on a leash like a dog!...
4. Wear a thong bikini- You wouldn't catch me in a thong bikini bottom before baby, and you SURELY won't see me in a thong out in public now!! Enough said...

5. Have a female mullet- REALLY!?! I just DO NOT understand women with this hair style??

So there you have it!... Now you know if you guys ever see me walking down the street, coming out of the hair salon with a freshly trimmed mullet, carrying my fake Coach bag in one hand and a child leashed baby girl in the other, with my mom jeans over my thong bikini heading to the beach, just shoot me with a tranquilizer gun and drag me to the loony bin because I have lost my mind!! LOL ;)

Just call me "The Booger Mongler"...

So I have just realized that I have a SERIOUS problem!... I CANNOT stop picking my daughter's nose!! {is that weird?!} ... It started soon after I started using the bulb syringe (for my non-mommy friends, a bulb syringe or nasal aspirator is a contraption that sucks the snot out of baby's nostrils)... But it didn't stop there!...

The first time I ever successfully "picked one" WITHOUT the bulb syringe, I had a HUGE sense of accomplishment you would have thought I just climbed a mountain or something!... My husband was watching this whole escapade go down (I think he was half appalled / half humored by my excitement). She was still a brand new baby at the time so when I picked her VERY FIRST BOOGER, the thought crossed my mind to keep it and press it in her baby book!... Hehe! :-) {don't worry I didn't! Hubs shot that idea down real quick! LOL}

A few months later, I discover a wonderful thing called "Little Noses" saline drops!... You put a few drops in baby's nose & it helps to loosen all the "gunk" in there & helps to aid the bulb syringe's suction power!! :) and on top of that, I'm also digging in there with Q-tips now!... And of course there's my occasional pinky nail if "the culprit" is close enough to the rim!!!... It's MADNESS!!... It seems I have made it my life's mission to make sure those passages are clear & free of debris!... It drives me bonkers if I see my sweet baby girl with gunk in her sweet little nose!... I have become a compulsive, booger mongler!! I NEED TO STOP! It's not healthy & I think I need professional help! {Yes, I realize it may also be gross to some people- especially the non-mothers}... Are there "AA" meetings for nose picking? Maybe "Boogers Anonymous"?!

It's gotten to the point where my sweet baby girl is scared when she sees me with a Q-tip in hand and starts to squirm!
So I've heard the first step to quiting is admitting you have a problem, so here it is...

My name is Jayne and I am an obsessive, compulsive "mommy nose-picker"!!! {bows head} ... I'm so ashamed! <:-(

Married Mondays: Meet my spouse...

My dear friend, Stephanie ( www.marriagetales.blogspot.com ) just started a new weekly post theme called "Married Mondays"... This week's topic is "Introduce Your Significant Other"... So here it goes :)...

This is my SWEET husband of almost 4 years, Jeremy...

Now when I say "sweet", he REALLY & TRULY is THE SWEETEST man I have EVER met!! When I first met him over 6 years ago, I didn't think guys like him existed! I always found myself looking for something wrong with him & our relationship, because I am a pessimist like that, but after being together for a while & after meeting his family, I finally realized that he was for real! This guy really is everything he has shown me & is the perfect guy for me!

He works for the State of TN as an Assistant Director in the Comptroller's office and will soon be the newest (and youngest) Director for the Office of Local government later this year... His major in college was Computer Science with a minor in Geographic Information Systems at Western Kentucky University, so I like to call him my very own computer geek! ;) He also started his own business last year for this software he created and now 2 counties in TN are using his program & his side business is thriving.

He loves playing golf and is a devoted Tennessee Titans and Univ. of TN fan! He's also an amazing soccer player! He was actually on the Olympic Development team for KY & was even offered a scholarship to Vanderbilt! So he's kind of like David Beckham with a Bill Gates brain! LOL :-)

But his looks & intelligence are not the only things that made me fall in love with this man!...

He's the kind of guy that still opens every door for me... even when we're at home, it's ALWAYS ladies first & steps aside to let me be the first one through the door or up the stairs...

He's the kind of guy that always washes my car & pumps my gas & will even take my car to get gas if he know it's running low because he knows I don't like doing it...

He's the kind of guy who will carry my purse no matter how "unmacho" it makes him look! ;)

He's the kind of guy that always takes out the trash & wheels the trash bin to the end of the driveway every week. He's the kind of guy that makes sure we say a prayer before we eat and steps aside when we are exiting the church pews & lets all the other people out first, then falls in behind them...

He's the guy that is nice to every single one of my girlfriends & truly cares about what's going on in their lives. He NEVER gets upset when I plan a "girls day" & he has to watch the baby...

He's the kind of dad who changes dirty diapers, gives her a bath, & reads her bedtime stories with no complaints...

He's the kind of dad to our daughter I thought I could only dream of!!
He's the kind of husband that works so hard & is so dedicated to provide a secure & stable life for our family. He never complains about having to work, going to work, working late or on the weekends! He loves his job & is AMAZING at what he does!

He's the kind of husband who's perfect day is playing a round of golf with his friends or watching a Tennessee game and spending his evening at home with a home-cooked meal and a glass of wine and snuggling on the couch with me & baby...
He's the kind of husband that lets me be who I am.... He puts up with me when I act like a spoiled brat or when I have a crappy attitude and still loves me anyway! He makes sure to remind me about what's really important in life & how fortunate we are when I seem to forget sometimes...

He's the kind of husband who when I was pregnant cooked me dinner & painted my toenails and when I was in the hospital on bedrest, shaved my legs & changed my bedpan!!

He's the kind of husband who is already planning our retirement & making sure we are saving the right way so we can travel the world together when we get older...
He's the kind of person who has NEVER SAID ONE MEAN THING ABOUT ANYONE!! In all the years I've known him, he's NEVER spoken one harsh line about someone & is SURE to snap me back into shape when I say something mean!

He's the kind of person who does not raise his voice. He is friendly to EVERYONE he meets and after talking to him, everybody likes him! He's even nice to my mother, when sometimes she makes it hard to be! ;)

He's the MOST emotionally stable individual I have ever met!... especially when I tend to NOT be so stable at times! LOL ;)

He's the kind of guy I can act TOTALLY silly around and he'll be right there next to me acting just as silly! :)

He's the guy who always mows the lawn, empties the dishwasher when it needs to be done and puts away his clothes...

He's the man a girl like me does not deserve but makes me a better person for it!!

That's my "Sweet Wormie" ;)

We got a date night & a new car all in one weekend!!...

Hi friends! Hope you all had a nice weekend!... Ours was kind of a whirlwind that I'm having trouble remembering everything that happened!... Do you guys ever get that way?

On Saturday morning, I went to one of my favorite places, Whole Foods, and stocked up on a bunch of goodies to make baby food...

{It wasn't until I got home & was looking in one of my baby cookbooks that I found out you shouldn't give them pineapple cause it might upset their tummies}... But hubs loves pineapple so that ended up being his... :)

I had planned on spending the afternoon making baby food and doing laundry, but for some reason it didn't quite work out that way?!... I did eventually put one load of laundry in but the rest of the afternoon is kind of a blur?? I do know a Saturday afternoon BLT made it into the mix, I stopped by Tuesday Morning and found this adorable hula outfit for baby girl & I did my nails, but that's really all I can remember of that afternoon!...

Saturday evening was BIG though {well for us anyway}!... Since tomorrow is Jeremy's birthday, I surprised him and lined up a babysitter so we could go out to dinner- baby free! This was the 1st time we have ever left sweet baby girl with someone other than my mother-in-law!... I was a nervous wreck since I had never met this girl before (she is the babysitter my sister-in-law Melissa uses) and also because Anniston has been going through separation anxiety with me a little and hadn't napped ALL DAY!... We were only gone for 2 1/2 hours because Anniston has not been taking her bottles well at all the last few times I have been gone so we needed to be back in time for her nigh time feeding but it all worked out great! Hubs and I went to our favorite Mexican restaurant with his brother Chris & his wife Melissa. We had a great time & definitely need to plan more date nights like that in the future!

Sunday morning, we weren't able to go to church because the car we have painstakingly been searching for was being delivered to us sometime between 7:00am-12:00pm... We got the call around 9:30 that the shipper was here & we had to meet her by the interstate because she wouldn't be able to get her tractor trailer in our neighborhood... {those that have been reading my blog, I mentioned that hubs & I have been searching for a new SUV... It has been an excruciating journey because my husband is THE PICKIEST person when it comes to cars! God love 'em! ;)... So much so, that when we FINALLY found a make & model that he was happy with, there were none for sale close to where we live so we had it shipped from Chicago & bought it without even seeing it in person! CRAZY!?}... But here's our new grocery & kid carrier ;) {It's an '06 BMW X5... Sorry for such a bad picture, I took it quickly with my iPhone when we picked it up}...

Then after we all went for a drive, Hubs spent most of the afternoon tinkering & adjusting all the settings... While he was trying to figure out how to set our garage door opener, he left the car on so long that it killed the battery! So he had to jump it off & take it to Auto Zone & ended up buying a new one! Since this car has a lot of bells & whistles to it, the guy at Auto Zone didn't know how to reset everything after he changed the battery so now there are a bunch of indicator lights on! {Geez!}... So we have an appointment tomorrow morning to take it into the BMW dealership to look it over. Hopefully it's just a few things that need resetting & nothing too serious is wrong with it! But until then, she's just sitting in our garage... Hubs doesn't want me & baby girl driving it until we get everything checked out :(

Then later Sunday evening, I FINALLY got around to doing more laundry & making some baby food... I made some applesauce & cantaloupe...So that was our exciting weekend in a nutshell... well everything I could remember anyway! ;)

Some of my favorite quotes...

I love quotes!... One of my unfinished projects in my home is taking some of my favorite quotes and framing them & covering one of the walls in the office with them...

My friend Beth was in search of some so I looked through my notes and thought I would share some of my favorites with all of you!...
