30 things..

In honor of me turning 30 last month, I thought I'd share 30 random things about me... :-)

1. I watch WAAAAYYYY too much reality TV! It's how I decompress! Just vegge out on the couch & watch mindless TV. I've seen every single episode of every season of the Real Housewives... It's probably not something to be proud of, but I think it shows that I'm a loyal person! LOL
2. I have roughly 500 unread emails in my Inbox... I used to tell myself I would eventually get to them, but at this point what's the use?...

3. I have no sense of direction! If you tell me to point you North, I'll point to the sky... That's what GoogleMaps & my husband are for! ;-)

4. I LOOOOVE cookbooks! I have more than I need, but still love getting new ones. I borrow tons from the library every visit...

5. Fried chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, corn on the cob & sweet tea makes me giddy! :)

6. I believe a good road trip should include pork rinds, boiled peanuts & beef jerky! In fact, if I'm driving anywhere south of TN that's more than 4 hours, it's a MUST!

7. I LOVE living in the south! It makes me proud to be a "southerner".

8. I'm even prouder to be a Tennesseean!
9. I like SPAM!... No, not the junk mail, the mystery meat!... Overall, I'm pretty good about buying organic & natural stuff, especially chicken, but there will always be a soft spot in my heart for spam, hot dogs & bologna... (yes, I totally just sung the "Oscar Meyer" song to spell "bologna")... ;)

10. Owls freak me out a little... I realize they are stylish now & are everywhere from jewelry to baby bedding, but they give me the creeps! I think it's that neck turning thing they do... (Sorry Beth! I know you love them)

11. Everytime the song "Pour Some Sugar on Me" by Def Leopard comes on the radio, I am imagining myself dancing like the hot girl in the video... hair flips & crawling on the floor and all! LOL... (My friend Rhiannon is probably laughing right now because I may or may not have performed this exact fantasy in real life begin silly one night a long time ago... :)

12. I am still boycotting Aruba... and Chris Brown.

13. I wish I knew how to play the piano...

14. I'm dying to learn how to sow... I've even started buying fabic for the day I know how!... I am FULLY aware, it will sit in my house collecting dust for quite a long time before I FINALLY get a sowing machine!

15. I don't like wearing chocolate brown or "crazy" colors (or prints for that matter)... 8 out of 10 times I will either be wearing black, gray, white, tan, blue or green... However, bright colored shoes or a show stopping handbag always makes me happy :)

16. I am OBSESSIVE about my coffee!... How its made & the cup I drink it out of... (I need 4 equals, a BIG splash of half and half and one of my FAVORITE travel mugs!)
17. I am NOT a morning person!... I'm especailly not a nice person, if I don't have my coffee... *Consider this your warning! ;=(

18. I have ZERO patience... (bad service at a restaurant & repeatedly having to tell my husband the same thing over & over again usually have the "zero tolerance" policy)

19. I love to bargain shop! It makes me SO proud to get a good deal on something that I usually can't shut up about it!...

20. I also have no problem dropping a fortune on a purse!... It's a passion really! I figure, I'm a bargain shopper on most things, so my purses can be my splurge! :)
21. I love my husband more today than I did when we 1st got married... REALLY!

22. I believe bananas and Nutella have to be THE BEST combination ever!
23. I'm allergic to cats...

24. I could eat cereal for breakfast, lunch & dinner...

25. It takes me FOREVER to fall asleep every night... even if I'm really tired!
26. Close-minded people irritate the tar out of me!... another thing I have no patience for!

27. I have a slight hoarding problem when it comes to nail polishes & chap stick... and pens... and black clothing... and scarves... (I could probably go on, but I'll stop before I embarrass myself)

28. I hate ironing! I'll spent more time ironing my clothes with my flat iron while I'm wearing them, getting ready, before I lug out the ironing board & ACTUALLY iron...

29. I'm afraid of the dark...

30. And I sleep with a stuffed monkey named Mr. Monkey... YES, I am aware I am 30 years old! It's my thing... get over it! LOL :-)

Well there you have it folks... Wow! Coming up with 30 random things about me, was harder than I thought!... Hope I didn't bore y'all too bad!.. If you're still interested in learning more random stuff about me click here, here or here. :-)

What a nice Saturday...

Today was a good day!... Nothing terribly exciting happened, but just another enjoyable Saturday... I love Saturdays like these...

Got up and made breakfast for me, hubs & baby... and after breakfast sweet baby girl played in her activity center for a while & let me & hubs sit at the kitchen table and drink our coffee & talk.

After breakfast, hubs let me have the afternoon to take some "me" time! I have the sweetest husband {yes, I'm being bias!} but I am so blessed in the hubby department!... So of course for my "me" time, I went SHOPPING!!

I needed to get some new jeans because I am in that horrible stage where I can't wear my maternity clothes anymore but still can't quite fit into my pre-baby clothes... I bought some jeans a few months back when my maternity jeans were too baggy on me and I've now gotten to the point where those are too big to wear now too {I'm not complaining, I just hate spending money on clothes I'll only be able to wear a couple months-HOPEFULLY! I'm only one size away from pre-baby... SO CLOSE!!!}

So I went to Old Navy and they were having a GREAT sale!!!! I got the "skinny" jeans I went in for (they weren't on sale) but I found a pair of "boyfriend" jeans for $10!! I actually had a different pair in my hands at full price & headed back to the baby dept to look around when I saw all their clearance items that were an additional 50% off the lowest price!! I found a pair that looked almost identical on clearance!!... I LOVE FINDS LIKE THOSE! I just couldn't pass them up... and hubs totally understood when I got home- thankfully! :)

Then in the baby dept, I found some cute things for sweet baby girl!.. Look at these cute pieces that were on clearance!! The top and skirt ended up only being $2 each!!! You can't beat that! She really needed more church clothes too!...

The Valentine's tee was on sale for $7... I thought it would be cute with a cream cardigan over it... The navy skirt has polka dot bloomers too!... so cute, I want one in my size! ;)

And I'm a sucker for cute jammies!... These were on sale for $8...

I came home after Old Navy cause I had to nurse baby & made the best BLT's for lunch for me & hubs... We have been on a huge BLT kick lately (probably because bacon has been buy one get one free at Publix for the last few weeks!)

Anyhoo, a great tip for cooking bacon- bake it in the oven!!! Its the only way I'll do it from now on cause I hate frying it in a skillet!

Just preheat oven to 400, put bacon on a foil-lined baking sheet for easy cleaning (I like to sprinkle a little brown sugar on top!...Mmmm nothing like candy-coated bacon!), and bake for about 15-25 minutes to desired crispness. Once you take it out of the oven, transfer bacon on a separate plate so it can get crispier :)

Then I went to my favorite place, Whole Foods! ;) I stocked up on a bunch of fruits & veggies to make baby food this week... went to the mall for a little bit, then came home and made dinner...

Plus, I only had to change 1 diaper the whole day!!... It was a nice day! ;)

Oh how I love Christmas Village...

So Friday night me & the girls went to Christmas Village... Oh how I love Christmas Village!!! Six buildings chock full of shopping, food & Christmas decorations!!!... All my favorite things! (For those that have no idea what I'm talking about check out http://www.christmasvillage.org/) Anyhoo... I look forward to this every year! In the past, I've always gone to the "Sneak-a-Peek" night on Thursday, then went back for more shopping on the weekend, but since I'm a SAHM (Stay-at-home-mom), I couldn't justify paying $30 for a "Sneak-a-Peek" ticket so the girls and I went on Friday night, which was the first night it was open to the public...

We had SO much fun!! It wasn't as packed as I was expecting, but it was still crowded!... This year I decided to be really festive & wore my "Merry Christmas crown"... (and of course I couldn't go with out my canvas Christmas Village shopping bags! LOL :)

My crown really came in handy when me & the girls got separated from each other... I was real easy to spot! LOL :) ... My friend Beth said my crown was a big hit & a lot of people I passed would say something about it being cute, but I think they were probably saying something more like "Look at that goofball in the stupid crown!" :) Haha

Every year, I have a few items on my shopping list that I try to find there. This year, my main goal was to find my Sweet Baby Girl an outfit to wear on Christmas day when we open presents... and by golly I found it!!! ...

Isn't it the CUTEST!!!! I am SO excited! {If you can't tell I am just obsessed with the Holidays!!}...

When I got home, I couldn't wait to see what it would look like on her...

The bow is as big as her head!!! PERFECT!! LOL ;)... just what I wanted- for her to look like a big Christmas present! :)

I also have to mention the coolest thing of the night... the booth I bought this outfit at, they lady checked me out all by using an app on her iPhone {P.S.- I am an iPhone user, and like all of us that have one know it is an OBSESSION! and were are all app crazy!} Anyhoo... while most of the other booths had to use the old-timey credit card swiper that takes an imprint on a carbon piece of paper you have to sign... this high-tech iPhone user had an app where all she had to do was enter my credit card number in her phone then I signed my receipt right on her screen!... just like those computer screens at Target! So cool!!! Me & Beth almost bought something else just to try it again!!! :)

And the most troubling part of the night... we spotted 2 different women with the dreaded "Kate Gosselin" haircut!!! {Eeeek!!} Please, I hope this is one trend that doesn't catch on!!
