Weekend Wrap-up...

Hi bloggie friends! I hope you all had a good weekend! I know mine zoomed by but it was a great one!

On Friday afternoon, I packed up the SUV and my hubby and sweet baby girl took a daughter/daddy road trip & went to our family lake house in Kentucky for the weekend... (Here she is with her little Olivia doll on the way to pick up "dada" at the office... Isn't she precious?! ;-)

My hubby was playing in a golf tournament with my brother-in-law & my daughter got to spend time with her cousins & her Aunt E, while THIS momma got a WHOLE WEEKEND ALL TO HERSELF!!!!!! *ahhhh*

It was wonderful!... I didn't do one load of laundry the ENTIRE WEEKEND, nor did I do the dishes or clean the house for that matter!!!... I was COMPLETELY USELESS in the housewife department and it was FABULOUS!!!! :-)

I did, however; watch A LOT of trashy TV, got a pedicure with my bestie, did a little shopping, and had a dinner out with my girlfriends! It was the perfect weekend in my book!... I even slept til 10:30am today!! I didn't think my body did that sort of thing anymore!... Anyhoo...

On Saturday morning, I met my best friend Jana for a pedi... I don't usually get pedicures (they make me slightly uncomfortable- yes I know that's weird but I just like to do my own nails) but I was WAAAAYYYYY over due for a good foot scrub!... So my question is, since I don't usually get pedis, the lady asked me if I wanted to do "the razor" or just a scrub on the bottom of my feet... I opted for the scrub because "the razor" sounded slightly terrifying! But I have to ask you "pedi pros", what's the deal with the razor?? Does it hurt?... (To be quite honest, I think she should have taken a sandblaster to the bottom of my heels so maybe opting out was the wrong choice!...)

Anyhoo... after my pedi, I went to the mall because I had some errands to run & things to exchange... I picked up these two nail polishes for fall at Sephora...

Sephora by OPI "Caught with my Khakis Down"

& Already Famous

*I can't wait for fall nails!!! Really, I can't wait for fall period!*

Then I saw these beauties while strolling through the shoes section as Macy's....

Aren't the fabulous!!!! They're Rachel Roy (who I adore!... I actually saw her in NYC while hubs & I were there last fall)... but I took this pic with my iPhone so it doesn't do this beauty justice but they are a beautiful sparkly dark purple (they're aubergine if you wanna get color technical) and I ADORE THEM! They are only $99! I was very surprised!... What a fun going out shoe that would be!

I also saw this pretty sparkly bracelet at Ann Taylor LOFT...

I really wanted to take her home with me (& her rose gold counterpart) but I behaved myself... I'm hoping when my mom comes in town in a couple weeks we can go back & get these as my bday gift from her! :-)...

Then, I headed over to the "Promiseland" aka Tiffany & Co. for this little number... :-)

*You can see what's inside that beautiful blue box later... ;-)

Then, to finish off my wonderful child & husband free weekend, I met some of my favorite ladies out to dinner to celebrate my good friend, Beth's Birthday...

We thought it was going to be a nice, quiet dinner... But Lordy, we should have known better!... nothing about us ladies is quiet- especially when we all get together & there is watermelon martinis & wine flowing! LOL :-)

Our "quiet" Sunday night dinner, turned into a 3 hour affair and by the end of it, we were on a 1st name basis with several of the wait staff... We had a blast!... We laughed (A LOT), cried a little, and even managed to get a few disconcerting looks from the lady at the table next to us! LOL... I'd say it was a night for the memory books!... :)

So what was in that little blue box you ask???...

A beautiful "LOVE" pendant necklace for the birthday girl!... Happy Birthday Miss Beth! We love you more than you realize & we hope you always feel that when you wear your necklace! :)

What I'm obsessed with (Wednesday)...

Happy Wednesday friends! Sorry this is a late night post, but it's been a busy day!... I've been keeping my sweet 3yo nephew 2 days a week this summer & today was his last day at "Aunt Jayne's Daycare" :-)

To mark the special occasion, I made several boxes of chocolate & vanilla pudding & let the kiddos pudding paint after lunch! It was a hoot! I don't know what was better... seeing the look on his face when I told him we were gonna paint with pudding or watching him suck the paintbrush! LOL... Kids are just so precious!

Anyhoo, back to the business of the day... WHAT I'M OBSESSED WITH (WEDNESDAY)...

1. Wine-

*Ahhhh, wine*... On my crazy mommy days, I love nothing more than to have a BIG glass of wine & decompress! I like red or white wine (Cabernet or Pinot Grigio are my favs but I do not discriminate! I LOVE all wine! ;-)

I do, however, have a confession...

"My name is Jayne, and...

That's right!!! I'll say it loud & proud!... I am not afraid!!! And you shouldn't be either!

I know boxed wine, has a stigma attached to it to some people, but it's the 21st century & boxed wine has come a loooooong way! There's more in the boxed wine aisle besides good ole Franzia...

*Side note- there is nothing wrong with Franzia in my opinion! Hubs & I have a box in our pantry now!*

This has been my favorite Pinot Grigio so far though...

Still searching for my favorite Cabernet, so if you have any suggestions, please send them my way :) ...

So if you haven't made the switch to the box, give 'er a whirl! You can actually find some really good wine living in a cardboard box! :-)

On top of it being a better buy, it is A LOT more eco-friendly!! Plus, a lot of the boxes are made out of recycled materials & boxed wine uses a TON less gas to transport because the packaging amounts to just 4% of its total weight, compared to 70% for traditional bottles- so that savings is transferred to YOU- the consumer! You are not paying less for a lesser quality wine! You are just not paying for the outrageous fuel prices it takes to ship a heavy glass bottle across the country!... And the BIGGEST pro with boxed wine (especially in our household) is how long it stays fresh! (usually 6-8 weeks)... A normal boxed wine has about 4-5 liters (about the equivalent to 5-6 regular bottles) for around $20!!!
So I say, "Drink to that!!!" :-)

P.S. Would y'all still be my friend, if I dressed up as this for Halloween???? ;-) LOL Don't tempt me!

And where better to serve boxed wine, but in a fancy new kitchen!...

2. A new kitchen- *SIGH*

So I LOVE to cook! I am a stay-at-home mommy who basically makes breakfast, lunch & dinner from scratch for my family everyday!... and I LOATHE my kitchen! :( don't get me wrong it is not "horrible"... it's just not my style!... and boy am I a stylish person! ;-) lol

I just really, really, really, want a pretty bright white kitchen, with white cabinets, sleek hardware, carrara marble counters, a subway tile back splash, an island with seating, stainless steel appliances, deep under mount sink & a rich, dark floor... :( Can you tell I've been dreaming about this for a while??? Just the thought of it, brings tears of happiness to my eyes!

My friend, Stephanie, was over the other day & we had been talking about what hubs should buy me for my 30th Bday coming up... The original "only in my dreams" answer was a Chanel bag... but given a little more thought, if hubs was gonna blow that kind of money on my birthday, just save the bag for another year and buy me a fancy new kitchen!... And tie a big, pink bow around one of these beauties please!... *ahhhhhh.... Wouldn't it be lovely!... yes I'm picturing myself wearing an apron resembling a pink tutu, twirling in my fancy new kitchen* LOL

OK. Back to reality...

3. J. Crew Navy blazer- $188

Hold on to your hats ladies, because this is not your banker's navy blazer with the gold buttons! (however, it does look exactly like the ones the men would wear on Friday's at the bank I used to work at. LOL)...

This navy blazer is perfection! And I NEED one, pronto! :-)

I would totally rock this classic with jeans & these beauties...

or with my next obsession on my list...

4. Frye Boots- $498

I can just picture myself with my navy blazer, white collared shirt, cashmere scarf, skinny jeans & these bad boys crunching through the fall leaves with a pumpkin spice cappuccino in my hand!... haha... can you tell I'm getting excited for Fall???

Ok, so there you have it... my week's obsessions... looks like I need to get myself a job as well if I'm going to afford some of my obsessions!! :)

What I'm Obsessed with (Wednesday)...

Hi my bloggy friends!

So I've decided to start a weekly post topic called "What I'm Obsessed with Wednesday"... Each week (hopefully) I will share with you a few of my favorite things! Things that I cannot stop thinking about, want, or love... Feel free to join in on the fun & share some of the things you are currently obsessed with at the moment. It can be fashion, news, food, new products, new discoveries- you name it! Anything that's been on your brain, I wanna hear about it!... So I can start obsessing about it too! ;-)

So here are my latest obsessions...

1. Tory Burch Tallis Satchel : $495

*sigh* ... I LOVE this bag! Recently I've been obsessing over all things Tory Burch. I adore her!... Yesterday I was at Target and saw a girl with this bag & I may or may not have followed her! ;-) I caught up with her in the baby aisle, which just so happened to be where I was headed anyway, so I "technically" didn't stalk the poor girl, but we ended up talking for awhile about her BEAUTIFUL bag. She told me her sweet husband bought it for her 30th Bday (hint hint sweet husband of MINE! :) ...

Before her & I parted ways, the thought crossed my mind to ask her if she would be my friend, but I didn't want to scare her more than I probably already did! LOL :-)

There's also this beautiful one I wouldn't turn away either!...

Tory Burch Amanda Hobo- $465

I just really want a bag I can wear on my shoulder, that also has a long strap I can use as a crossbody too...

And then there's these beautiful "Cinderella" shoes... Ahh...

2. Electric blue suede BCBG Ebonee pumps- $110

I call them my "Cinderella" shoes because of this...

I LOVE that quote... (It needs to hang in my dear friend Stephanie's closet who has a Louboutin shoe collection that would make any fashionista cry tears of happiness!) LOL

So you may be saying to yourself "Seriously Jayne! Blue suede shoes?! Who are you, Elvis?!"...

Well my bloggy friends, don't write them off just yet! I predict you will be seeing them everywhere come fall!... Think of them as a neutral! I firmly believe what you think goes with nothing, actually goes with everything! Think about it... You would be surprised all the things you could wear this bold-hued shoe with!

As for me, I envision them on my toesies for my 30th Bday bash, with a fabulous new black cocktail dress & some sort of sparkling headpiece... I would also totally rock these beautiful foot protectors with skinny jeans & a black cashmere sweater... or black ankle pants & a white button up! The possibles are endless! :-)

You know, as I think about it... I've always had a thing for blue shoes!... Here I am on my wedding day with my "something blue"... fancy blue footwear! :-)... I guess I do tend to channel Elvis, every now and then!

Then there's this new release from my love, Michael Kors...

3. The Double-wrap Leather watch $225-

Those that know me, know I obsess about a good watch anyway, so this latest installment to the Michael Kors watch collection may be no surprise! I was actually searching high & low for a double-wrap watch about 3 years ago, with no luck. Then last week, my friend Stephanie & I went to the grand opening party for the new Michael Kors store in Nashville & I spotted this beauty in the case. (Yes angels started singing & a bright light was shining down on it from above... That's how magical the moment was for me!...)

It would have been coming home with me that night, if only I didn't promise my dear husband I wouldn't buy anything at the event... oh yeah, and if I had $250 to blow on a watch too! ;-)

Anyhoo, speaking of wrist jewelry... Here's my next obsession...

4. Stella & Dot Renegade Bracelet $59-

I hosted a Stella & Dot party a few weeks ago & this was one of the jems I got for free! I totally would not have even given this bracelet a second glance because it's not usually my style, but I was just having fun trying everything on & I surprisingly fell in love with it & HAD to have it!

Here I am modeling it with my big, gold Michael Kors watch & my other Stella & Dot hostess freebie, the Prosper Bracelet... :)

And last but not least on my 1st installment of "What I'm obsessed with Wednesday...

5. Pinterest (free & absolutely addictive)-

I have my dear friend Beth to thank for this new addiction of mine... If you've never heard of it, its kinda like a virtual pinboard. It lets you organize and share all those beautiful pictures, projects, etc. you find on the web. You can browse pinboards created by other people to discover new things & find inspiration to decorate your home, find a craft project, etc... I have to say it has slightly taken over my life! If you don't have an account, message me & I'll send you an invite so you can start pinning! :-)

Well... that's all for now folks! I hope you somewhat enjoyed learning about my latest obsessions. Please feel free to leave a comment or post on your blogs what are some of the things you are currently obsessed with & leave your blog address in my comments section!

Happy Wednesday! :)

New beginnings...

WELL... H-E-L-L-O long lost bloggy friends! Did you forget about me?... Well that's ok, cause I did too!... Do I still have any readers out there! LOL

Well, so what have I been doing since the past year & a half since I blogged you ask... well A LOT! But I won't bore you with a long recap of the past 18mos... I may however do a picture post next week to catch y'all up when I have more time...

I will say, I have some SUPER fun events coming up the next few months... as well as a scary/exciting new venture...

I am embarking on a NEW chapter in my life and it slightly terrifies me... Partly because it involves being 30!!! ;-) ... And partly because the things I want to accomplish will take me completely out of my comfort zone & force me to do things that scare me! But the past few weeks I have had this saying ringing in my ear...

"What would you do, if you knew you couldn't fail?"

Well, honestly, I can name a TON of things! And just thinking about the things I want to do in my life that I have NOT done because of fear brings tears to my eyes!... Maybe its because I'm turning 30... Maybe its because I want my daughter & husband to be as proud of me as I am of them... Maybe its because I don't care what anyone thinks... Maybe its because I have THE MOST amazing friends & family that lift me up & make me believe I can do all the things I dream about... and if I fail, they will be there to pick me up off the floor... whatever it is, I need to stop making excuses and JUST DO IT!

I will definitely keep you all post as my life starts to unfold!...

Until then my sweet bloggy friends, I leave you with this question... What would YOU do if YOU knew YOU COULD NOT FAIL?...

Sometimes, we all get so wrapped up in "life" that we forget to listen to that inner voice inside ourselves that is trying to lead us down the path to our dreams... Well, take a breath, quite all that other "noise" and listen to that voice because it just may lead you to your happy ending!...

"Take what you can from your dreams, make them as real as anything." -Dave Matthews
