Just to give you a little background on me... I LOVE SUMMERTIME!! I was born in Maui, Hawaii and am a tropical kinda girl! I love the warm weather, I love the sun on my face, I love wearing sundresses & flip flops, I LOVE the beach, and I LOVE buying too many swimsuits every season- until now!
It's starting to get warmer here in Nashville... The rest of the week is supposed to be sunny & with a high in the 60's so I definitely have the Spring & Summertime on my mind! I just can't wait for it to get hot so I can take sweet baby girl out into the back yard and splash around in her baby pool! Plus, the hubs and I are planning a trip to the beach in July so I'm already starting to shop for vacation clothes! ;)
One thing I am NOT thrilled about for ONCE in my life is swimsuit shopping! <=( I have ALWAYS been a bikini kind of girl! I guess you could say I have a little bit of a hoarding problem when it comes to bikinis!... My bikini collection is just as precious to me as my purse collection & I treat them just as good as my purses! LOL :) I usually buy 4 or 5 every season. Here's a few of my favs I probably won't be wearing except in the privacy of my fenced in back yard! ;)...
My absolute favorite place to buy bikinis is Victoria's Secret! I'm obsessed with their swimsuit catalog (among other things)!... But not this year!!... I've barely looked through it! It just breaks my heart because I have come to the realization that the time has come to trade my bikinis in for a "mom-approved" tankini!
Aside from my "new" mommy bod that's making me want to cover up more, my in-laws are building a new lake house on Kentucky lake that should be complete in a couple months. I know the whole family will be spending a lot of time there this summer because we are all pretty excited about it, so I know I'll be a lot more comfortable with more material on instead of less!...
I've been on the hunt for a cute tankini for the last few days now... I've found a few that I liked so now I'm just kinda narrowing it down but these are the ones I'm leaning towards...
This pink & white one is at Old Navy.com. My friend Beth emailed me a 30% off coupon good Thursday-Sunday this week so this is in my shopping bag ready to checkout on Thursday! ;)

So yeah... the time has come for me in a TANKINI! I may even get one of those skirted bottoms to go with it so it looks like I'm wearing a mini skirt to the pool! Ha ;)

I have been thinking about the same thing--I doubt I will make it into a bathing suit at all this summer, but I have come to the realization that my bikini days are over as well :o( Glad you have found some super cute tankini's though, gives me some motivation for when it's time for me to start looking :o)

You now have me completely addicted to that store LOL....I'm not sure how much the hubs likes the prices LOL....I'm still trying to talk him into the 80.00 lamp LOL....I did order the white mirror last night from there though....LOL
ReplyDeleteGirly I used to always buy bikini's from VS too well actually I bought most of my clothes from that catalog and then I got sick and went on all these steroids and it became Tankini or Spanx One piece for me.....
Those tankinis are sooo cute and you are so gonna rock them....your so pretty

You can come over to my house this summer, and wear a bikini. I did last year when no one was in our pool but Landon and me. FINALLY I can wear one again this summer, and not feel gross! I did see some cute tankini's in VS though online!
